skyline simulations

sipping tea as i wait for the sunrise

with its moments of silhouette

of my four beloved mountains

low white-blue clouds blanket

our skyline most days so we

cannot tell for certain if a towering

shape is instigated by water vapor

or granite or ancient magma/lava

somehow i need to know that,

on a clear day, what i think of

as Hood or St. Helens,

Adams or Jefferson will rise again

at that place on my horizon
