just a bit exaggerated?
on these hot days i try to picture
the Portland TV reporter standing
at Sylvan Hill with snowflakes
drifting around her and melting
into the wet sidewalk while she
exclaimed, “We’re reporting
from a white-out!”
shorts and sandals await
my sandals waiting
as spring makes up its mind
to stay above fifty degrees
my shorts will continue waiting
until i make up my mind
to take off those last fifty pounds
sky rivers buffeted
our sky rivers buffeted, dislodged
from paths we on earth have come
to expect
changes in our weather from above
and beyond bring snow yet again
in the middle of april
and yet again the knowledge
that, despite our fussing, nature
will do as nature wills
as it weaves the world we live in
