winter approaches

haiku

with stealthy approach

winter mists exhalations

then shudders, shivers

fog dispersal

haiku

whispers strewn by fog

over mist-swallowed friendships

diffuse understanding

Aurora masked

my mysterious joy, Aurora Borealis

was vivid from Texas to New York

but our Pacifici Northwest, socked in

with mist and clouds, afforded me

no view of those eerily moving lights

that touch me deep within to remind

me to maintain humble perspective

through august

gentle rain, hardly more than mist

but it may be enough to give hope

that the far-flung

 rhodies will make it through august

or dew or blessing congregations of mist

to resurrect parched life after long summer drought
