red often attracts
darting, hunger-metabolism hummers
i filled one feeder with red sugar-water
but only ants came at the invitation
i cleaned and filled a red feeder
and hung it where i can watch
perhaps my face detracts
more than the color red attracts
no hummingbirds in sight
