Prospects

The young people on our Merrill Gardens staff are remarkably kind, patient, and good-natured with us old folks. A friend told one that as she worked with us, she would come to know who were really are and what our needs are.

She grinned.

I quipped, “And to know what you have to look forward to.”

Her young smile faded into ghostly proportions at that thought.
